Dr. Charles Winick helps people achieve their true potential and gain greater satisfaction in their lives. Through adherence to this core value, along with the application of business/marketing skills, Dr. Charles Winick’s business, Family and Forensic Psychology, continues to grow and develop. To this extent, this core value underlies Dr. Winick’s entire professional career that includes psychological evaluation and psychotherapy in his clinical practice, conducting forensic evaluations relevant to legal questions focusing on whether an individual has some type of impairment, consulting with businesses to improve organizational performance by applying psychological principles to develop the effectiveness of individuals and groups in the workplace, and consulting, and consulting with clinicians in private practice to facilitate their mental health practice becoming a source of personal satisfaction and financial success.
Dr. Charles Winick received his Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his Master of Science and Doctor of Psychology degrees at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. While at Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Winick assisted teaching Psychological Testing and Report Writing at the doctoral level. Dr. Winick joined the American Psychological Association as a student affiliate and remains a member of the American Psychological Association.
Dr. Charles Winick has been has been a licensed psychologist in the south Florida area since 1993. Dr. Winick was employed as a Court Psychologist for Broward County from 1994-2001. In addition to his clinical work, forensic work, and consulting work, Dr. Winick has had an adjunct faculty appointment in the Nova Southeastern University Ph.D./Psy.D. program and an adjunct faculty appointment at Broward College. Dr. Winick has been the author of multiple book chapters and multiple journal articles. In addition, Dr. Winick has made psychology presentations, related to his work, in both the United States and Europe.
Dr. Charles Winick is affiliated with The Psych Team. The Psych Team is a multi-disciplinary mental health practice. The Psych Team was formed in 1990 and has developed an excellent reputation in the community. Dr. Winick has a mutual referral relationship with the other mental health practitioners of The Psych Team. Thus, if Dr. Winick is unable to see a person for any reason, he will refer the person to a skilled Psych Team clinician. Also, on occasion, Dr. Winick may refer the family member(s) of a current patient to another clinician. Dr. Winick’s affiliation with The Psych Team enables close communication between the clinicians who are working together to help the same family
Dr. Charles Winick has met all requirements and obtained an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) from the PSYPACT Commission. As such, utilizing Telepsychology, Dr. Winick is able work as a psychologist, with people outside the state of Florida, in multiple states in the United States of America, that participate in PSYPACT.
